Hey Curlfriend! My name is Erika and I'm the owner and creator of EarthBorn Organics! I've been through somewhat of a hair ‘rebirthing.’ I spent many years hating my curls, and often wished my texture was more of the straighter variety. I went from straightening my hair, to an unflattering bleach blonde color within 3 months. On top of that, I was flat ironing my hair daily and shuddering at the heat damage that came with it. Finally, I gave up. I accepted my ‘curly-fro’ and decided to begin taking steps to create a better environment for my hair. After ‘transitioning’ the heat damage and color out of my hair by trimming it every 4 weeks, I wanted to ensure that any product I put in it was not only beneficial but also maintained its health. So there I was, reading every product label I could get my hands on. I needed to know what all the long, unpronounceable words were. A lot of them contained alcohol (which is extremely drying to hair), sulfates (strips your hair of its natural oils), and formaldehyde (a dangerous chemical that can cause irritation to eyes, nose and throat.) I asked myself whether ANY of these products were worth the 2 years I put in my hair to get it to its healthiest point… the answer was obvious!
